The Montrose County Historical Society General Monthly Meeting 

We are pleased to announce that in October our guest will be Steve Kries who will present stories of sheep ranching in the Uncompahgre River area.  Mr. Kries, has worked with sheep shepherds and ranchers during every season. He has assisted shearing bosses during shearing, helped sort sheep in the fall and helped shepherds move sheep. He has lived with shepherds, eaten their food, and appreciated a space on the camp floor on a cold New Year's night.  His story is not of a rancher or legal advocate, just an average fellow blessed by God to have been a part of the lives of over 150 shepherds and shearers from eight countries and more than 30 ranchers and foremen.

This presentation will be on Wednesday, October 7th, at 7:00pm in the Pioneer Room at Friendship Hall on the Montrose County Fairgrounds. ​ Please use the smaller door to the left of the main doors. It will be open at 6:30pm.

As always, the program is open to the public and free to attend.
